Violinist
Concertmaster of Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Lawrence Foster since 2013, Da-Min KIM is one of the youngest and most influential concertmaster in France. In recent seasons, he has performed Carmen Fantaisie of Franz Waxman with Marseille Philharmonic orchestra for New Year Concert in Opéra de Marseille and has appeared at Grand Salon des Invalides in Paris.
He has gotten artistic advice from Salvatore Accardo and Patrice Fontanarosa in Fondazione Walter Stauffer of Cremona and in Schola Cantorum of Paris.
Mr. Kim plays the Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume 1840.

As a soloist, Mr. KIM has performed with Orchestre d’Harmonie des Gardiens de la Paix, Foreign Legion Orchestra in France, Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra, Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra, and Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.
As a guest concertmaster, he was invited by major orchestras in France such as Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre Symphonique de Toulon.

Mr. KIM has performed in festivals such as Les Musicales de Bagatelle in Paris, Grand Salon des Invalides in Paris, Messiaen au Pays de La Meije Festival, Classical and Baroque Music Festival in Marseille, Villefavard Musical Farm, Festival des Arts de la Grange de la Clavière, the Musée de Grenoble, Festival de la Chaise-Dieu, Salle Cortot in Paris, Musique dans la rue Festival in Aix-en-Provence, Printemps Musical des Alizés in Morocco and at Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice.

He is laureate of Canetti international competition, Rodolfo Lipizer international competition, Ginette Neveu international competition, Markneukirchen international competition, and He was also recipient of Banque Populaire Foundation Scholarship for five consecutive years and Cziffra Foundation Scholarship. With his sister Da-Hee KIM, they won the 2nd prize in Lyon international chamber music competition (Ainos duo), and the duo released their first album, entitled “Tradition among modernes” with Sonatas of Strauss and Debussy for the 150th anniversary of R. Strauss with Lyrinx label.
Mr. Kim earned his B.M., M.M., and Artistic Diploma at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris under the tutelage of Roland Daugareil, Suzanne Gessner, Olivier Charlier, and Hae-Sun Kang. He has also studied with Gyula Stuller at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne where he earned the Soloist Master (with Max D. Jost Foundation Award).
