After obtaining a first prize in cello (class of J. Marie Gamard) and a first prize in chamber music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Frédéric Lagarde continued his studies with Roland Pidoux, then joined the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris in 1995.
He became solo cello of this formation. He has the opportunity to work with Gary Hoffmann, Janos Starker, the Amadeus Quartet. He plays as a soloist with the Orchestre d’Avignon, the Orchestre de Chambre d’Aix-en-Provence and the Orchestre Azuréen. Frédéric Lagarde was part of the Archets de Paris with whom he recorded Vivaldi’s concertos.
Member of the Cellofan Cello Quartet
He is now a member of the Cellofan cello quartet, and the Aperto string quartet composed of soloists from the Opéra Bastille (recording in 2006 of the Zemlinski and Kreisler quartets). He is regularly invited by many festivals: Callian Festival, Bélaye Cello Encounters, Les Nuits pianistiques International Festival, Moïta Cello Encounters. He participates as solo cello in the sessions of the Ensemble instrumental de Corse.
