Jacques Rouvier

Born in Marseille, Jacques Rouvier was a student of Vlado Perlemuter, Pierre Sancan, Jean Fassina and Jean Hubeau. A virtuoso and profound musician, he has won numerous international prizes: Viotti in Vercelli, Maria Canals in Barcelona, Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud in Paris. The release of his recordings is always warmly welcomed and often rewarded (Grand Prix du Disque, Grand Prix du Disque Français). Jacques Rouvier’s artistic influence is a faithful reflection of his rich personality. His musical instinct, his powerful and moving poetic imagination and his perfect knowledge of the repertoire are praised by international critics. An eminent pedagogue, after thirty-five years of teaching at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he has taught at the Mozarteum in Salzburg since 2006.
