Michaël Hentz began his musical studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory and continued them, thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for five years at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, where he worked with Mikhail Vaiman and Boris Goutnikov. For more than ten years he benefited from the personal advice of Sergiu Celibidache, from whom he also attended seminars on the phenomenology of music and orchestra rehearsals. With a vast repertoire, he gives concerts in recital and chamber music, plays as a soloist with orchestra the major works of the repertoire concerting in Europe and the United States.

Michaël Hentz teaches chamber music at the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, then from 1996 at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris (violin and chamber music).
An internationally sought-after teacher, he gives master classes in Europe and the United States and participates in various summer academies (Les Nuits pianistiques, Nice, Courchevel, Cagliari (Sardinia), etc.).
