Le festival Les Nuits pianistiques d’Aix-en-Provence is a long lasting and perennial cultural event. Along with other major summer happenings it has enhanced the city and the region’s cultural life with a series of high level concerts since its creation in 1993 by its artistic director, the French pianist Michel Bourdoncle. The festival has also visited other countries, such as China,Germany Rumania and Moldavia.

Symphony concerts, chamber music, récitals
The festival offers an eclectic programme. Ever since the creation of the festival we have welcomed different regional orchestras as well as foreign ones to take part in our concerts and symphonic evenings. Recitals and chamber music are in the spotlight, too, and we also welcome new creations, improvisations,jazz and multi artistic projects.
Beyond our 30th anniversary
We celebrated our 25th anniversary with an exceptionally rich calendar of outstanding events. Our next anniversary, to celebrate our third decade, is in 2023, and this will be the opportunity to look back on our greatest moments and prepare new ones for the future.
Since its beginnings, twenty seven years ago, the festival has organized more than seven hundred concerts with the contribution of nearly one thousand five hundred artists. Approximately 150000 people have attended the events.
