Véronique Marin
After obtaining various prizes at the CNSMD in Paris, Véronique MARIN was awarded a special prize at the “Pablo Casals” international cello competition in Budapest. Passionate about chamber music, she is a member of various ensembles including the Roussel Quartet (winner of the 1986 Evian International String Quartet Competition). Within the Ensemble Fa, Véronique MARIN works with composers such as Tristan Murail (Grand Prix Charles Cros) Gérard Pesson (Diapason d’Or), Bruno Mantovani… In 1989, she founded the Trio Dumky, which won numerous international prizes and recorded various repertoires, including the complete piano trios of Bohuslav Martinu (GRCD4) and Anton Dvorak (5 Diapasons), and “Among Friends”, works by Canadian composers, which was voted best classical recording of the year by the Globe and Mail (1998). The Dumky Trio studied with Menahem Pressler (Beaux-Art Trio). The trio has been invited to perform all over the world in prestigious venues in Prague, Austria, Canada and China….
In 2016, she founded the Safran Trio with Nicolas Miribel and Pascal Robault
Véronique MARIN teaches cello at the CNSMD in Paris and at the CRR in Rueil-Malmaison, and gives masterclasses in France and abroad (Spain, Canada, etc.). Since 1988, she has also been the artistic co-director of the “Rencontres Musicales des Hautes-Provence” festival.
